Not for every project. Straightforward replacement work can sometimes be planned without an extensive design process. For larger transformations involving several zones, level changes, structures or multiple materials, resolving the design first can be particularly valuable.

Yes. Discussing the likely investment level early helps us make more appropriate decisions about the scale, materials and complexity of the design. A final build price still depends on the specification and actual site conditions.

Yes. Planting can form an important part of the overall landscape, introducing structure, softness, privacy and seasonal interest around paving, decking, lawns and outdoor living areas.

Premium composite decking is often chosen for its timber-inspired appearance and lower routine maintenance. Products such as Millboard do not require the regular staining or oiling normally associated with timber. Product quality, correct substructure and professional installation remain important to the finished result.

Projects can incorporate porcelain paving, natural stone, Indian sandstone, block paving and other suitable landscape materials depending on the property, design, intended use and budget.

Yes. Proud Gardens installs artificial grass as a standalone lawn project and as part of complete landscaped gardens. Ground preparation, sub-base construction, drainage, edging and the way the lawn meets adjacent paving or decking are all important parts of a professional installation.

No outdoor surface is completely maintenance-free. Artificial grass removes mowing and feeding, but leaves and debris still need removing, the pile can benefit from brushing and gardens used by pets require suitable routine cleaning.

Resin-bound surfacing can be considered for suitable projects. The condition and construction of the base, drainage and the intended use of the area need to be assessed before the right specification can be confirmed.

Timescales depend on the size and complexity of the project, site access, ground conditions, weather, material lead times and the amount of construction involved. A relatively small installation may take days, while a complete garden transformation can take several weeks or longer. A more realistic programme can be discussed once the scope is known.

Many garden rooms can fall within permitted development when the relevant conditions are satisfied, but this is not automatic. Property type, size, position, height, intended use and local restrictions can affect what is permitted. Where formal confirmation is required, this should be checked with the relevant local planning authority or planning professional.

The agreed payment schedule will be confirmed with your quotation. Typically, a deposit secures the booking, a further payment may be required for materials ahead of the project start, and the remaining balance is settled in line with the agreed project terms and completion.

Factors can include restricted access, excavation, disposal of existing materials, poor ground conditions, drainage, changes of level, retaining structures, premium materials, garden buildings, lighting and other bespoke features. Garden size alone does not determine the cost.

Many landscaping and construction tasks can be undertaken outside the summer months. Weather and ground conditions can affect certain activities and programmes, but winter can also be a useful time to progress a garden so that it is ready for greater use later in the year.
